Not only was it bad for my office, but it was also pretty disturbing for the students who turned them in to me. I will describe some of the ways that papers turn out bad and why it is important for college students to be educated about the process of turning in a paper.One of the biggest reasons for turning in awful papers is because people do not understand what the assignment is all about. Usually, a student does not have much of an idea of what their work entails. Often they think that they just have to turn in a few problems or parts of an assignment to pass their class. When I worked at the engineering college, we had many problems with horrible papers because the students did not understand the instructions. Then when they submitted the paper, it got rejec ted and they were stuck with it.When a student gets stuck with a paper, there are several things that they can do to help them out: they can go through the paper and take out anything that does not need to be in it, they can modify the problems or parts of the assignment so that they match up with what the assignment actually asks them to do, or they can rewrite the whole thing in order to make it better.
